Watermark on video๐
In Eocortex Client and Eocortex Web Client applications, it is possible to apply a security watermark to the image. Such a watermark contains: the name of the user who launched the application; the name of the computer on which the application is launched; and the current date and time. Security watermarks. A security watermark is applied to the image when live video is broadcast, archive playback, and in exported video clips, saved and printed frames. The watermark makes it possible to identify the source of video information leakage, including screen reshooting.
Using in the Eocortex Client application๐
If the camera is set to display a watermark and the user has been given the Display watermark on video permission, the Eocortex Client application will display the watermark applied to the image in the camera cell.
Depending on the settings, the watermark will be applied either in live viewing mode, archive playback mode, or both.

Warning
In Eocortex running with Enterprise and ULTRA licenses, the watermark in Eocortex Client and Eocortex Web Client applications is not used for users with access rights of the Senior administrator level.
The watermark is not visible in the preview section of the Fragments mode.

The watermarks displayed in the camera cell at the time of saving or printing will be applied to saved and printed frames.
When exporting a video archive, the preview window will display a watermark that will be applied to the exported video.

Warning
The watermark is not applied to videos exported in MCM (Eocortex Media), maximum speed and MP4 without time stamps, high speed formats. If at least one camera with enabled watermark is selected when exporting an archive for a group of cameras, exporting to the specified formats will be blocked for the entire group.

The watermark overlay is compatible with overlaying an image from a file (see Archive export). The image from the file is then overlaid on top of the watermark text.

Using in the Eocortex Web Client application๐
If the camera is set to display a watermark and the user has been given the Display watermark on video permission, the Eocortex Web Client application will display the watermark applied to the image in the camera cell.

Configuring the watermark in Eocortex Configurator๐
Note
Configuration of the watermark displaying for a camera is available only to users who have rights to configure that camera.
Configuring the watermark for an individual camera๐
Step 1
Run the Eocortex Configurator application.
Step 2
Go to the Cameras.
Step 3
Select a camera in the list.
Step 4
Switch to the Watermark tab on the right part of the window.
Step 5
Enable the Display watermark feature.
Note
By default, this option is disabled.
Step 6
Configure the watermark displaying.

Step 7
Enable displaying of the watermark in the user rights settings.

Configuring the watermark for a group of cameras๐
To configure the watermark display for a group of cameras, follow these steps:
Step 1
Run the Eocortex Configurator application.
Step 2
Go to the Cameras.
Step 3
Select a camera group in the list.
Step 4
Click the Change camera group settings button on the right part of the window.
Step 5
In the window that opens, switch to the Watermark tab.
Step 6
Configure the watermark displaying.

Warning
The watermarked video preview is not available when setting up a camera group.
Step 7
To change the settings for all cameras in the selected group, click Apply.
Step 8
Enable displaying of the watermark in the user rights settings.

Watermark settings๐
Below is a description of the available settings:
Watermark text: in this group of settings, it is possible to select the parameters that will be displayed in the watermark:
Date and time
Username running Eocortex Client.
Name of computer, on which Eocortex Client is running.
Color: the color of the watermark text. If the desired color is not presented in the preset palette, it can be added by pressing the
button.
Opacity: the leftmost position of the slider corresponds to the minimum opacity value โ 10%; the rightmost position of the slider corresponds to 100%.
Text position: location and orientation of the watermark. The following options are available:
: single watermark diagonally from left to right, bottom to top.
: multiple watermarks diagonally from left to right, bottom to top.
: single watermark horizontally, in the center of the cell.
: multiple horizontal watermarks.
Note
When selecting options with multiple watermarks, the number of marks is determined by the size of the cell.
Configuration options for the web client๐
Below is a description of the available settings:

Configuring user rights๐
By default, displaying of the watermark is disabled for all user groups.
To enable displaying/hiding of the watermark for a user group, follow these steps:
Step 1. Run the Eocortex Configurator application.
Step 2. Go to the Users page.
Step 3. Enable the Users of Eocortex applications button.
Step 4. Select a group of users and click the Edit button.
Step 5. Go to the Basic tab.
Step 6. Enable the Display watermark on video permission and set the desired displaying mode.
Note
If the option Only on live view is selected, the watermark will not be applied to the exported archive fragments and frames.

Requirements, limitations and features๐

For cameras with a watermark overlay, exporting the archive via HTTP API and mobile application is not available.
