Redundancy in Eocortex๐Ÿ”—

The following features are available to ensure failover and data integrity in Eocortex video surveillance systems:

Redundancy of connection to cameras๐Ÿ”—

Hot redundancy of camera connection๐Ÿ”—

If the main server that receives video from the camera fails, the backup server will receive the video. The redundancy will continue until the primary server is restored.

The following features of the main server are also reserved: retransmission of the received video to the workplaces; recording of this video into the archive; transmission of the video from the archive to the workplaces; motion detection.

During main server failure, only the archive recorded in the backup process can be played back on workstations.

The analytics modules configured for the camera are not backed up.

You can reserve video receiving from all or part of the cameras bound to a server. Cameras bound to the same server can be reserved on different servers.

In normal backup mode, switching to the backup server can take up to 1 min from the moment the connection with the primary server is lost.

In the fast backup mode, switching to the backup server takes no longer than 10 seconds from the moment the connection with the primary server is lost.

Licensing

  • Available in all license types.

  • In ULTRA and Enterprise, additional licenses are not required.

  • In ST and LS, additional licenses are required.

Constant redundancy of connection to cameras๐Ÿ”—

Receiving video from the camera is constantly performed by both main and backup servers.

Both servers can: retransmit the received video to the workplaces; record this video to the archive; transmit the video from the archive to the workplaces; detect motion.

During a main server failure, it will be possible to play back the archive from the backup server on the workstations.

Duplicate disks๐Ÿ”—

Simultaneous recording of both video archive and database to primary and backup disks installed on the same server.

Spare disks๐Ÿ”—

One or multiple disks can be designated as backup. Recording will only occur on them if all primary disks fail. As soon as at least one primary disk becomes available again, recording to backup disks will stop

Replication of archive๐Ÿ”—

Copying an archive to a selected replication server. You can copy archives from several servers connected to a single video system to one replication server. The archive depth on the replication server may differ from the archive depth of the source servers.

  • On the replication server a license for connection of 1 IP camera must be installed.
